Old Business

Ron checked out the request made for a benefit run by the lady with cancer, which we tabled till this month.  She has insurance so it is a wants, not needs request.

The DECAV sign to be put out front of Jean’s Place should be completed within the next few weeks, as per Kenny.

The 2 ramp request that were received have been checked out and we will do them.

Kenny will lead the Havelock build; the homeowner will get all permits needed.  Member help is requested.   Kenny will follow up on when this will be done to recruit man power.

Ron will lead the Newport build: nothing will be done until after Memorial Weekend.   Homeowner will get all permits needed.  Member help is requested

Discussed Carl Juedes Memorial Run-

Derrick to start coordinating the event.

New Business

Boys and Girls Club event dates are July 15th – 17th.  We will also help on July 12th to get the supplies from the storage center on Hwy 24 to the waterfront.   This is something that we do every year along with the event.
Duffy will be in charge of the bar and needs to get his bartenders.
Red will be in charge of food service.  This is where the most help will be needed.

Wahoo Challenge, Oct 13-16.  Holly Fletcher coordinator requested up to help again this year. We will need a few members to load truck for Morehead City waterfront, prior to the event and at the end of event pick up and return.   We agreed to do.    More details to follow.

WEBMASTER SEGMENT:

First off, sorry about the late updates. I had and still have some software issues that keep my new computer from being able to update this and other web pages I handle. Hopefully my back ordered program will get here soon. No excuse, I just have to borrow a friends computer to bring these things up to date.

Sign in an INDIANA store
front window

'WE WOULD RATHER DO BUSINESS WITH 1000
AL QAEDA TERRORISTS
THAN WITH ONE SINGLE AMERICAN SOLDIER!'

This sign was prominently displayed in the window of a business in Whiting, Indiana.

You are probably outraged at the thought of such an inflammatory statement.

However, we are a society which holds freedom of Speech as perhaps our greatest liberty.

And after all, it is just a sign.

You may ask what kind of business would dare post such a sign.

Answer:

Owen's Funeral Home

You gotta love it!!!

God Bless America

We would like to take the time to Thank ALL of our Service Men and Women...OUR MARINES, SAILORS, SOLDIERS, AIRMEN AND COASTIES for the Sacrifices they endure and have endured for the Freedoms we take for granted!
